Overview:
The Assistant Manager – Technology Strategy supports the development and execution of the Group IT strategy through strategic planning, governance, performance management, and technology innovation initiatives. Working closely with IT and business stakeholders, the role helps translate strategic priorities into actionable programmes, strengthen governance practices, and evaluate emerging technologies, including AI, to support digital transformation and business growth.
Responsibilities:
IT Strategy & Planning
- Support the development and execution of the annual Group IT strategy and roadmap.
- Assist in tracking and coordinating the implementation of strategic IT initiatives across the organisation.
- Support the prioritisation of IT initiatives in alignment with business objectives and assist in monitoring related KPIs and performance metrics.
IT Governance & Performance Management
- Support IT governance processes and promote adherence to Group IT policies, standards, and best practices.
- Consolidate and analyse IT operational metrics, including project delivery status and SLA performance, and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and presentations to support decision-making and performance reviews.
Technology Innovation & Adoption
- Conduct market research and feasibility studies on emerging technologies and identify potential business use cases.
- Support proof-of-concept initiatives and technology adoption programmes.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement and support change management activities during technology implementation.
- Conduct technology assessments, with a particular focus on AI and emerging technology trends.
- Support the evaluation, testing, and validation of AI products and platforms, assessing business value and operational readiness.
- Assist in driving internal AI awareness, education, and adoption initiatives across the Group.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IT strategy, governance, PMO, technology planning, digital transformation, or a related field within a large organisation.
- Understanding of IT governance, strategic planning, performance management, and technology adoption practices.
- Strong interest in emerging technologies and AI, with knowledge of recent AI developments; experience supporting AI adoption initiatives is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and support strategic decision-making.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both business and technology teams.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Mandarin.
